ENJOYING IT WITH EMPEROR

HORSE RACING

Until Saturday, I wouldn't go out to Fuchu but at last decided to go there in order to enjoy horse racings with Emperor and Empress watching 132nd Tennno-sho at Tokyo Racing Course Sunday. A mare Heavenly Romance had beat last year champion Zenno Rob Roy to have acquired the Tenno Tate or THE SHIELD first since Air Groove did in 1997.

33.6!! How fast it was in last three falongs of the race, but how slow in the winnig time of it, in spite of exciting us in the scene near the goal line.

Though it apologizes to Emperor, the race is not the maximum target for all of entrants. It appeares to the content of the race, for example a slow pace, a lot of rest dawn horses, and so on. That's why I'm now less interested in a stake of Tenno-sho than before.

race result:

132nd Tenno-sho (30 Oct)
G1, 2000M, turf, at TOKYO Racecourse

1.Heavenly Romance #1 Mikio Matsunaga, Shoji Yamamoto, 2:00:1
2.Zenno Rob Roy #13 Norihiro Yokoyama, Kazuo Fujisawa, by head
3.Dance In The Mood #12 Koji Kitamura, Kazuo Fujisawa, +0.0

UNBEATEN DEEP IMPACT GETS TRIPLE CROWN

HORSE RACING

He had come at the head as you expected.

Deep Impact, his seven consecutive wins meant that the favorite won Kikka-sho to become the second triple crown horse no defeating since Shimbori-Rudolf did in 1984. Trainer Yasuo Ikee and stable stuff seemed to be surround such a nervous situation as we couldn't imagine. So did Jockey Yutaka Take. He seemed to be more smily and relaxed than any other grade one races after winning. I will send them congratulations and thanks of providing us memorial moment, despite then I hoped others could defeat him...

Colt between Sunday Silence and Wind In Her Hair, he has a vastful future. I don't know which race Ikee and owner Makoto Kaneko choose next time. Japan Cup in Tokyo, Grand Prix in Nakayama, or International races in Hong Kong ? Anyway, I wish Deep Impact conforonts stronger rivals, apart from a win or a loss.

race result:

66th Kikuka-sho (23 Oct)
G1, 3000M, turf, at KYOTO Racecourse

1.Deep Impact #7 Yutaka Take, Yasuo Ikee, 03:04:6
2.Admire Japan #6 Norihiro Yokoyama, Hiroyoshi Matsuda, +0.3
3.Rosen Kreuz #4 Katsumi Ando, Kojiro Hashiguchi, +1.0

DIFFICULTY TO SCORE

MLB PLAYOFFS

A Very Tough Series. All of winnig starters completed each game to give Chicago White Sox a ticket to World Series first since a 1959 team. The starters, Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia and Jose Contreras overcame battles with Angels starters limiting less than 3 runs in the American League Championship Series. Considering Anaheim's bullpen works, I felt that only little things might have turned each victory to Halos.

There were controversial judges through the series but that's a baseball. South Siders showed best pitching performance to bring a game to a scramble for one-run. That's how Chicago had won this season, Small Baseball.

ALDS hero Tadahito Iguchi became silent to make 3 hits of 17 at-bats with 6 strikeouts and a walk. I wish Sox battings take the team to World Champion.

match results:

Anaheim 3-2 Chicago (11 Oct)
W:Byrd
S:Rodriguez
L:Contreras

Anaheim 1-2 Chicago (12 Oct)*
W:Buehrle
L:Escobar
*Crede hits walk-off double in 9th

Chicago 5-2 Anaheim (14 Oct)
W:Garland
L:Lackey

Chicago 8-2 Anaheim (15 Oct)
W:Garcia
L:Santana

Chicago 6-3 Anaheim (16 Oct)
W:Contreras

TOTAL EFFORTS WIN TO ANGELS

MLB PLAYOFFS

Hideki Matsui hit a ground ball Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez threw to first-baseman Darin Erstad to end the 9th when Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim got the series 3-2 win over New York Yankees in the American League Division Series.

It was tense game each in the series, through which some starting pitchers allowed runs to be replaced early before late rally decided a winner. Finally, the series-winner had total efforts both pitchings and battings with just luck a little bid.

Matsui entered as 5th batting and leftfielder to get 4 hits of 20 at-bats with an RBI and a HR but 3 strikeouts and 14 left-of-bases through the series. He was in bad condition to have no hit last two games. Godzilla seemed to be fatigue due to all-162-game entrances. I strongly hope to remain in the team next season.

match results:

New York 4-2 Anaheim (4 Oct)
W:Mussina
S:Rivera
L:Colon

New York 3-5 Anaheim (5 Oct)
W:Escobar
S:Rodriguez
L:Wang

Anaheim 11-7 New York (7 Oct)
W:Shields
L:Small

Anaheim 2-3 New York (9 Oct)
W:Leiter

MCLAREN EXCITES SUZUKA

FORMULA ONE

This year again, Suzuka's Saturday was in rain condition, but not typhoon. The regulation of 2005 confirmes a quarifying order to enter into the circuit, so in rainy surface, its order decides the outcome. Saturday quarifying result in Suzuka, Japan named Ralf Schumacher of Toyota the pole-position following Jenson Button of BAR-Honda as second ahead third place Giancarlo Fisichella of Renault. But Sunday afternoon win went to none of them. The winner had come from the 17th grid, McLaren-Mercedes-Benz, Kimi Raikkonen.

The Finn put into the range to pass Ferrari's Michael Schumacher with going just a front Fernando Alonso of Renault after a safty-car which entered the circuit due to Raikkonen's teammate Juan Pablo Montoya's crush in 1st lap was gone. Some laps later, Raikkonen made success in passing over German last champ following Spaniard new champion.

While top runnners, Toyota's Schumacher and Button failed pit-strategy, Raikkonen had more speed than any other drivers to stand the top remaining less than 10 laps. But Finn went to the pit as Fisichella was transferred top. Mercedes-Benz' speed was proven at that time when Raikkonenn passed Italian just one lap to end before he recieved the chequered flag as top position.

McLaren's Dramatic win may be one of the most exciting Grand Prix I've ever seen. You have a lot of Suzuka legends so far, but this year Suzuka had made another legend, I think.

race result:

FIA, formula one 2005, 18th round
Japanese Grand Prix (9 Oct)

1. Kimi Raikkonenn, Finland, McLaren-Mercedes-Benz, 01:29:02:212(53 laps)
2. Giancarlo Fisichella, Italy, Renault, +1.633
3. Fernando Alonso, Spain, Renault, +17.456

POG 05-06 part I

10月9日 京都芝1800M(新馬)
1着、オースミタキオン 1分53秒0 和田竜二Jk
   父 アグネスタキオン by サンデーサイレンス
   母 サムソンレディ by Caerleon

YANKEES REACH TO AL EAST TITLE

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

Time to bear and wait was over. New York Yankees won the 2nd of three game series against Boston Red Sox, 8-4, on 1st October when NY got an 8th consecutive AL East title.

It was easy for me to imagine that a road to a title was difficult for Yankees when I found that New York started season opener against last World Champ Boston. As I expected, Joe Toree's men had run after Terry Francona's side through the season, by nine games as maximum.

Unbelievable for Yankees. I would like to watch it including Hideki Matsui's roared fire more one month.

match results:

New York 3-5 Boston (30 Sep)
W:Wells(15-7)
S:Timlin(13)
L:Wang(8-5)

New York 8-4 Boston (1 Oct)
W:Johnson(17-8)
L:Wakefield(16-12)
*AL East title to Yankees

New York 1-10 Boston (2 Oct)
W:Schilling(8-8)
L:Wright(5-5)
*Boston into Playoff as Wild Card
