ARAKAWA SHINES GOLD WITH PERFECT SKATING
Time has come when the Japanese who watching TV every early morning have been rewarded finally. Japanese Shizuka Arakawa managed her skating without a mistake to stand the top of the podium in Women's Figure Skating of Winter Olympics Torino 2006. She had come back from the 3rd position(66.02) in short programs the two days before, when Sasha Cohen of USA ended SP so close 0.03 pts ahead of Russian Irina Slutskaya finishing 2nd(66.70).
This night on the 14th day of the Olympics, under no-medal frustrating Japanese press, Arakawa expressed the whole things she could with the whole body. It was likely that jump failures of Cohen and Slutskaya helped the Asian a little bid. All things winded for the blue dressed Japanese. The rest of Japanese, Fumime Suguri and Miki Ando, starting from SP 4th and 8th, finished the 4th and 15th.
Arakawa's gold medal seemed the only one for Japan, but I want to say thank-you for all Japanese players in Turin.
