HAKUHO, UP TO THE SECOND MONGOLIAN OZEKI

SUMO

Sekiwake Hakuho, who had finished a 13-2 result with Shukun-sho and Ginoh-sho prizes in Haru-basho, promoted to Ozeki on 29 March. He is the 2nd Mongolian Ozeki since Asashoryu (now be Yokozuna).

On the Final day of March Grand Sumo Tournament, Hakuho and Asashoryu were given the 2nd loss by Ozekis, Kaio and Tochiazuma, and they came into the playoff. The young Sekiwake grabbed Yokozuna's mawashi in a position of Uwate to take advantage, while the Yokozuna seemed to be able to do nothing by himself. Rushed toward the edge of dohyo, Blue Dragon Asasyoryu showed the spirit to win the title more than White Bigbird Hakuho. The white was thrown out of the ground, while the blue did it using Sekiwake's rushing power. The Yokozuna's cleverness led him to the Emperor's Cup.

It is sure, however, that Hakuho is hopeful enough to surpass the new rank. He is younger than the Yokozuna. It might not take a long time until the Time of "Blue and White" comes.
