KOBAYASHIs GIVE MARINES A VICTORY OVER HAWKS
On TV Tokyo, which has been an energetic channel for broadcasting professional baseball programs since last year, I watched a tie of Fukuoka Softbank Hawks welcoming Chiba Lotte Marines at the Yahoo! Dome in the Pacific League of Japanease Baseball.
Both teams sent off a fresh pitcher each other. It was first appearance this season for Shinji Kurano of Fukuoka, while Hiroyuki Kobayashi had twice entry with a win last pitching. Kurano deserved a lead by Jolbert Cabrera's RBI single to score Naoyuki Omura, who hit lead-off single at opening inning, before Kobayashi was helped by Matt Franco and Koichi Hori's solo shot at the 2nd and 3rd each to turn around it. After that, both pitchers showed almost perfect performances with no score to hand the game to relief pitchers.
Reliever Yoshiaki Fujioka and Koji Mise for Kurano were very lucky enough. Fujikoa made bases loaded after 2 outs before the second-base man Mitsuru Homma full-stretched grabbing Franco's grounder helped the rookie lose runs at 8th. Mise tossed by Fujioka allowed Val Pasccuci to lead-off single, after pinch-hitter Saburo's flyout, however, Toshiaki Imae's hitting ball lined luckily into shortstop Munenori Kawasaki's glove to get a double-play ending at 9th. On the other hand, Soichi Fujita, Yasuhiko Yabuta and closer Masahide Kobayashi had perfect inning each with no single to save H.Kobayashi's second win.
Marines beat Hawks, 2-1. Five teams except Rakuten Eagles are making fans entertain the games in the Pa-League. I'm looking forward to them facing Yomiuri Giants leading Ce-League in coming Interleague games.
Lotte 2-1 Softbank (4 May)
