BUTTON, HONDA WIN IN RAINY HUNGARY
It was the first win for the driver Jenson Button as his carrier when it was the first win for the constructor Honda as a worksteam since 1967. Hungaroring Circuit in Budapest gave Grand Prix drivers and crews a rainy condition, which made race-leaders exchange.
It may be said that tyres seemed to be most important factor in this race, Michelin or Blidgestone. Michelin user, the pole sitter Kimi Raikkonen of McLaren drove fast overwhelmingly on early laps while Blidgestone user, the 12th grid Michael Schumacher of Ferrari couldn't keep explosive speed seen in last three races to be overtaken by Fernando Alonso(Michlin) after the German jumped up the fourth on the first lap. But Raikkonen retired out due to crashing with Vitantonio Liuzzi of Torro Rosso when Alonso led the race. When it stopped raining, only a driving line gradually got dry in the wet cource because almost all formula cars traced the same line. At that time, the superiority and the inferiority appeared in the Michlin users. Batton of Honda(Michlin), who started from the 14th grid due to the engine exchange, closed the gap with leading Spaniard Champion before the Englishman rushed up to where to catch up with the Renault.
It was less than ten laps left when Alonso stopped to hit the tyre-barrier after the pit-out and the Honda machine led the race during the rest of laps. The Honda's win might be produced by many accidents including Alonso and Schumi's penalty in the qualifying round, and might not connect with next win. But it is certain that formula one get more interesting rest of season.
