Unbelievable! How crazy it is! NBC's announcer shouted it loudly when Quarterback and Holder Tony Romo fumbled in winnnig field goal situation. Dallas wasting valuable timeouts and grabbing two second remaining to turn around, Romo passed the Hail Merry for Dallas but was blocked out as Seattle Seahawks edged out Dallas Cowboys 21-20 home Qwest Field in NFC Wild Card Playoffs for NFL Super Bowl XLI Saturday. This maybe one of the most exciting and entertaining game ever in recent years.
The game began to roll over but gave you a feeling of strain peculiar to the playoffs when both defence teams struggled at end zone to force field goals. Meanwhile it was Cowboys, who entered it as a Wild Card, to get the momentum at first. Making couple of effective passes including 4th-down gamble, Romo passed to Patrick Crayton for 13 yards, Touchdown to end the half.
Into the 3rd quarter, Seahawks, who won NFC West title, fought back in rushing plays. Quaterback Matt Hasselbeck didn't work well so that Runningback Shaun Alexander marched to the red zone for Seattle including making 4th-down runs twice. Jerramy Stevens did the rest job to touchdown when the home team got back the momentum, I thought. Fun from this, however. Kick returner Miles Austin, rookie, and Dallas performed return touchdown for 93 yards to get back and back the momentum. Terrible! After Dallas extended the lead by kicker Martin Gramatica and Holder Romo's second fieldgoal this night, Seattle showed the rare play for me, maybe the first for the new century, SAFETY. This two points meant that the momentum went to Seahawks and the game would entertain me until one second to end. Amazing! Then in the series after the safety, Hasselbeck turned around the table by four plays to touchdown.
Next was Holder Romo's mistake at 1:19 to end. I thought it unusual but why Romo had to serve as a Quarterback and a Holder? Under the abnormal atomsphere at road, coach Bill Parcells may have needed some consideration to him, I don't know. Anyway coach Mike Holmgren and Seahawks advanced to NFC divisional playoffs for two straight Super Bowl appearence.
