GIANTS MAKE HISTRICAL UPSET AS PATRIOTS' DREAM IS OVER

NFL SUPER BOWL

Overcoming three time third-down including once 4th-down at the final quarter trailing four-point-deficit, Eli Manning brought New York Giants to wining touchdown. Then Tom Brady and New England Patriots, who was reaching the second perfect season since Miami Dolphins in 1972, end up the incomplete pass at 4th-down remaining ten seconds before they had first loss this season. It was one of the most exciting NFL Super Bowl Games ever I had watched.

In my impression, there was less games between first place teams at Division. It meaned that lower-placed teams wondered the league and Patriots' unbeaten was doubtful for me. However, it was clear that Brady was great in the playoff game against Jacksonville Jaguars and the defences great against San Diego.

Offcourse, I don't see the next NFL season at present. That is why NFL is more exciting me than any other sports on the earth.

NUGGETS SHOW ANOTHER FACE TO DEFEAT SPURS

NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

A Happy New Year I say 2008 is heard from an NBA game. Denver Nuggets performed the best defence play in the season against San Antonio Spurs, famous as the most defensive team when Denver defeated San Antonio, 80-77, at home, Pepsi Center Thursday. Allen Iverson made 29 points and Marcus Camby collected 18 rebounds for Nuggets as Spurs finished 37.0%, 27-73, on field-goal.

Manu Ginobili, Spurs' 6th man, did not play. Lack of him, one of high-scorer seems to be huge. But Spurs have much time until playoffs on April. Hope the last Champion's comes back with fully fixed boots, and new comers as well as Nuggets appears more.

match result:

San Antonia 77-80 Denver (3 Jan)

LAMBIEL REMEMBERS THE GLORY TO EDGE OUT TAKAHASHI

FIGURE SKATING

The Silver Medalist of Men's figure skating in Torino Olympic Winter Games 2006 came back to the top podium since 2006 world championships when Stephane Lambiel came from the second place after the short program to win ISU Men's Grand Prix Final over Japanese Daisuke Takahashi by just 0.16 point at the Palavela, Torino on Saturday.

Takahashi brought a 0.4 point-lead by the Swiss but took mistakes avoiding slippings. Same as Lambiel, who slipped once in the first half of acting. A 0.16 between them showed that the Men's best player of the Figure Skating have not been confirmed. The World Championships next March at Gothenburg, Sweden may tell us one more hint to find the next gold medalist of next winter's Olympics 2010, Vancouver.

match result:

RAIKKONEN CLAIMS 2007 CHAMPION WITH WINNING BRAZILIAN GP

FORMULA ONE

Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari stole the head from the pole sitter fellow Felipe Massa after his second pit. Massa kept the position to finish the second at home soil and Two of McLarens, Fernando Alonso ended the third and rookie Lewis Hamilton, the seventh. That meant the Championship went to Raikkonen by only one point FIA's formula one 2007 season.

Facts on the first lap are all. The second grid Hamilton was past Raikkonen and Alonso before turning the first corner and mistaking out of the course. It is the biggest and the most like-rookie mistake, which felt the Englishman dowe the hopeless position. Ferrari had showed the speed ending the season, so it seemed sure that the Italian cars could have lost the place even if making their mistakes.

I wonder where McLaren's two drivers go, but I'm looking forward to next season.

HAMILTON STOPS AS RAIKKONEN WINS TO STAY ALIVE AT SHANGHAI

FORMULA ONE

Point leader of this season, 107 pts, Lewis Hamilton, McLaren Mercedes, was past trailing Kimi Raikonnen of Ferrari at half of the race before he stopped the machine due to the accident few laps later in the Chinese Grand Prix of FIA Formula One World Championship 2007. After the race it was Raikkonen who atood on the top of the podium with ten point, 100 pts total. Hamilton's fellow and the nearest enemey, Fernando Alonso finished the second close by four points, 103.

This season, every races have bored me more because no battles involving with winning the race were seen on the circuit. But the miracle makes me stay in front of the TV that three drivers have the possibility of the World Champion remaining only one race first since decades. After the rainy Asian series, I'm looking forward to the scene with full of their technics and performances in Brazil.

ALONSO WINS EUROPEAN GP PAST MASSA ON ROAD

FORMULA ONE

Not due to pit-workings nor competitors' retirements, it was first time in 2007 FIA Formula 1 season when winner, last Champion Fernando Alonso of McLaren Mercedes, passed away race leader, Felipe Massa of Ferrari, on the road. It was a few laps remaining in European Grand Prix at Rainy Nurburgring, Germany.

In almost all circuits, a driver who have gone through first corner on 1st lap faster than others has lifted the Cup each. It bored me when I watched it race by race. But coming climax of the season, I'm happy watching battling on road and situation that Ferrari drivers and the champion trail the point-leader, the rookie Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.

Rain excites Grand Prix but no way every time. It maybe fan's selfishness...

KOTOMITSUKI HAS RISEN UP TO OZEKI AT LAST

SUMO

Sekiwake Kotomitsuki had finished a 13-2 result in Makunouchi division last July Grand Sumo Tournament, where the Japanese was born 31 years ago, Aichi Prefecture. Kotomitsuki gave Yokozuna Asashoryu a Nagoya-basho title on Final day but had defeated New Yokozuna Hakuho and all two Ozeki except fellow Kotooshu during the tournament.

Kotomitsuki is not young as New Ozeki, but will amuse us in style different from other Ozekis coming days. Hope he and lower-ranked rikishis surprise Yokozunas more.

HAKUHO WINS A HARU-BASHO TITLE AFTER PLAYOFF

SUMO

That is Sumo too, and I agreed what Ozeki Hakuho did it in the playoff of Nihon Sumo Kyokai Haru-Basho Sunday. After Hakuho and Yokozuna Asashoryu won a final match of regulation each against both Ozeki Kotooshu and Chiyotaikai. Especially when crowds at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium made a stir for the Yokozuna's match, Asashoryu deserved a win by Hatakikomi to avoid the contact and consumption because of a playoff afterward maybe.

But in the playoff, Hakuho revenged the Yokozuna by same finish to win the title. Those results might have been estimated not to be good by Kyokai stuffs and some fans. I can think about it that Hakuho's performance in the playoff has saved an honour of Chiyotaikai, whose eighth loss meant to be a net loser to need eight wins to keep the status next May Tournament. You know rikishi, most especially Yokozuna is needed kaku, or a style for the highest ranked player, and is not liked to perform unfair plays in which a Hatakikomi finish may be included. Hakuho must not want to did it, so he might want to demand Asashoryu more for kaku as Yokozuna.

By tha way, Hakuho have gotten a chance for Yokozuna again. Next tournament, I expect to win it in style that nobody complain anything. He can do it.

TOKYO CELEBRATES ANDO CLAIMING WORLD CHAMPION

FIGURE SKATING

What all Japanese at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium dreamed had happened tonight when some Japanese girls would stand on the podium of ISU Ladies' World Figure Skating Championship. Miki Ando, who performed the Free Skating as the huge roll of the last skater that might have given her nervous and pressure, came from the second place of the Short Program to win the first senior's world title. Mao Asada, the runners-up of GP Final last December, finished the second to be judged the best performance tonight despite the 5th in SP. The third Japanese Yukari Nakano resulted with the 5th.

Ando and Asada both had made first jump attempt and jump conbinations during the programs after Yu-Na Kim, a winner of last GP Final and the first place of SP, failed to land jumpings twice. The three girls are teenagers yet. The factor of their positions and their skating orders at that time might have given them the difference. It is a really slight thing. Next time it will rain down to Japanese girls, but I'll pray not to.

It might have come the time that if you become a representative of Japan, you will become a world champion, seeing a gold medalist last Olympic and a world champ tonight. It goes without saying that this is a good experience for Ando to get the next gold at Vancouver 2010. I want Asada to follow her by all means.

match result:

2.Mao Asada, JPN, 194.45

14th Day: YOKOZUNA STOPS HAKUHO TO LEVEL IT

SUMO

The Emperor's Cup didn't permit Ozeki Hakuho to possess Haru-Basho title at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium Saturday when Yokozuna Asashoryu beat Hakuho to level the result, two-loss in the 14th day of March Grand Sumo Tournament. At their first contact, Hakuho moved quickly to carry the Yokozuna to the edge of the dohyo ground but the Yokozuna, not allowing the Ozeki grab the mawashi belt, could made him kneel on the dohyo after changing the body.

Tomorrow, the Final day, the Yokozuna will meet Ozeki Chiyotaikai while Hakuho faces fellow Kotooshu. I expect that two-rikishi will win each and advence to extra match to win the Championship.
